The sandwich generation is a term coined in the 1980’s and refers to the large population of mostly baby boomers providing care for their own children as well as their aging parents. They are “sandwiched” in between both generations and their time is not their own.

So much thought has gone into the planning and development of this site and we are very proud of the positive response from caregivers and families all over the world!
Being a stay-at-home mom for several years, I understand firsthand the demands of caregiving. I also understand firsthand the worry involved in finding the best care for an aging loved one. When my beloved grandmother, Josephine was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in her 60’s, it was a shock to our entire family. Never had there been a more loving and kind-hearted women. (She gave Mother Teresa a run for her money!) My mom, uncle and aunt were unrelenting in assuring the best care for their mom. She devoted her life to taking care of other people and now it was her turn. Fortunately, our whole family lived close by and could pitch in and help take care of this amazing woman. Sadly, not all families have this capability. And even if they do, it’s always nice to have a little extra help!
